At the ASEAN Energy Efficiency & Conservation Workshop Towards Net-Zero ASEAN Buildings, GGGI Asia Low Carbon Buildings Transition (ALCBT) Project Manager Julie Robles shared our work in mobilizing Green Finance for Low Carbon Building Transition in the region. And alongside partners and other international organizations, she also presented ALCBT’s progress in supporting countries in the region during the 29th Energy Efficiency and Conservation Sub-Sector Network Meeting of the ASEAN Energy Cooperation on 21-22 May 2025 in Malaysia.

As ASEAN Member States work towards achieving their Net Zero Carbon targets, the building sector has emerged as a critical area for reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency. The event fostered collaboration, knowledge exchange, and support for policies and financial foundations to advance net zero building initiatives. These efforts support APAEC Phase II (2021-2025) Programme Area 4: Energy Efficiency and Conservation, specifically Outcome-Based Strategy 3, which emphasizes long-term sustainability in building energy efficiency.
